Welcome...

Ledy’s Chalet is a three bedroom vacation rental home, by owner, located on Drummond Island, Michigan.

Drummond Island is in the Eastern Upper Peninsula, and this vacation rental is located on Potagannissing Bay. Nestled in a grove of ancient cedars, this cozy, private vacation rental home offers an Island Get-Away for those looking for a relaxing, stress free vacation.

Built in 1995, this 1200 square foot, three bedroom, vacation home sits on an 8 acre parcel with 250 feet of private water frontage and is geographically situated in the heart of Drummond Island’s historical settlement. This inviting, comfortable and spacious vacation chalet, custom built with island beams and white cedar paneling, offers a breath taking view of Potagannissing Bay and its many islands.

With the sand beach on the shore and a marina next door, this vacation rental home is perfect for immersing yourself in a vacation filled with water fun, fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, exploring or just relaxing.

CHALET AMENITIES

The chalet’s modern kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, utensils and dish towels. Included are a toaster, electric frying pan, crock pot, a Keurig, and an electric coffee pot.

The dining room table comfortably seats six people for meals or game nights. An adjoining snack bar has four bar stools.  One cupboard is stocked with select games and playing cards.

A variety of seating options accommodate your family and guests with a full size sofa, swivel chairs and lounge chairs. The kitchen, living room and dining rooms share a large great room to better enjoy an evening spent together. There is also a bookshelf with a variety of books, along with a few movies - DVD, VHS. The television has access to local channels. Movies can also be rented at Wazz’s Party Store or checked out at the local library. The library has computers and wifi  for access to the internet.

The downstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed that will be made up with clean sheets, blankets and pillows.  The bathroom, with a shower, is across from this bedroom and is stocked with 12 bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and toilet paper.

An open staircase leads to two upstairs bedrooms one with a full size bed and the other with two sets of twin bunk beds (four single beds).  Each bed comes with clean sheets, blankets and pillows.

Four beach lounge chairs are located around the bonfire pit at the beach area.  The front porch is set up for comfortable seating and socializing. Also on the property are a hammock, a horseshoe pit, and a field area for playing games. A gas grill and charcoal grill are available for your use as well. Firewood is by the fire pit and is  available throughout the surround 8 acres of woods.

Laundromat facilities are close by to accommodate the need for any personal laundry.

A checklist on the bulletin board provides a guide to follow as you enjoy your  stay.  The checklist includes phone numbers for the two medical clinics on the island.

SEE & DO

The Chalet sits alone within the tree line on an 8 acre parcel of woods down a long driveway. The drive is located on the north side of Pine Street in the Island Settlement in the heart of Drummond Island.

The path from the Chalet to the water brings you to an open grassy field. There is a bonfire pit along with an open area for playing sports activities. The land slopes down to the water where there is a beach area. The shallow water is perfect for swimming, catching crayfish or kayaking.

A very popular event held at the Township offices is Baked Goods Bingo on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Each week's games are sponsored by a different Island organization with the proceeds going to that group. Games start at 7PM and everyone is invited to join.

Consider taking a view of Drummond from a plane.

Scuba diving enthusiasts can check out the Detour Passage Underwater Preserve - there are many ship wrecks to explore around Drummond Island. Bring your wet suit or dry suit!

The Chalet is available for your hunting adventure: Whitetail Deer, Waterfowl,  Black Bear and various Small Game.  And if you're looking for one of North America's most unique grouse hunts, Drummond is your place.

Fishing is also a big attraction. Spring brings perch and smelt runs in April. In May the Northern Pike, Walleye, and Bass seasons open. Late June through mid-July is great for Cisco (Herring). August is also peak Pike Season. Lots of fish just waiting for you and yours. Get in a boat and explore the depths. Sturgeon Bay Charter, Captain Ivan M. Gable, is who we'd recommend to experience awesome fishing.

Biking and roller blading are allowed on the side of the roads. You are within walking distance of the church, community center, post office, library, basketball court, tennis courts, school playground, museum, and Water Street Cafe.

There are also two golf courses on the island - The Rock and the Drummond Island Township Golf Course so remember to bring your clubs.

KAYAK RENTAL

We have Kayaks for rent on site! Reservations for Kayaks are necessary prior to arriving. We rent them for $50.00 each for the week.

We leave kayaks on the shore to simplify us having to move them to and from storage. We ask that you not use them unless you plan on renting them - thank you.

RESERVATIONS

Please call us at (616) 531-8337 to inquire and make your reservation.

The current rate for Ledy’s Chalet is $1,250.00 per week for a maximum of six people. If the number in your family exceeds six, there is an additional charge of $100.00 per person.

Check in time is Saturday at 3 PM.

Check out is Saturday at 11 AM.

We rent from Saturday to Saturday during prime season (June-August) and have flexible rental periods during the off season with a minimum 3 night stay (April-May & September-November).

Pets are welcome as long as you let us know about your plans to bring a pet and they are well behaved. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet. Pets are not allowed on the beds or on the furniture.

Our rates are significantly lower than our competitors who rent three bedroom vacation homes on Drummond Island. The reason is we do not use Drummond Island Tourist Association (DITA) or have a middle person doing our advertising and bookings. Clayton and I do the advertising and bookings ourselves along with the management of the vacation home. This allows us to keep our cost down which we can pass on to our vacation families.

However, it is getting more difficult to advertise to others who don’t know about our vacation rental home. So please spread the word and share Ledy’s Chalet with your family and friends through word of mouth and through Facebook. You are our advertising “agents” and for that, Clayton and I thank you.
